magic wire label head lone picks another smasher, aptly titled delirium tremens, from the elusive neon jung with a suitably precise re-edit from nathan fake on the b.side, fresh after his last remix for radiohead. delirium tremens takes on flavours of garage, soul and psychedelia and glues it all together with an armour plated, mutant electro backbone designed to make the dancefloor lose it for 4 minutes but still keeps the soul firmly intact. its another demonstration of neon jungs ability to take influences from many genres and join the dots to create something fresh, but with all the right reference points to make this accessible to everyone from your backpacking beat head to the hardcore club frequenters. the bass in the first drop of this track is just berserk – theres no other word for it. the b side sees nathan fake up the tempo but draw it out, making this perfect for the more patient crowd. it has nathans signature beat all over it – it rotates, swings and soars gloriously until it finally ends in a warm afterglow, complementing the original perfectly in its grower not a shower approach.

boy we couldnt resist hooking up with one of the youngest and brightest proteges in the west-coast undergound to slap out some crazy remixes of the bsu ep for yall. who is he? why, a made up sound ofcourse, or 2562 for short. steamrolling his way onto the scene in 2007, 2562 has been a mainstay from the get go, with amazing production skills and a keen ear for what rocks the house. in a very short time the 2562 name became almost synonimous for dubstep. but luckily for us theres the made up sound guise to provide us with a more mutant hybrid of slamming jak-step (and remember where you read that first). so take your pick, heres one for the heads and one for the bodies.

charity compilation part 1 with tracks by timo mass & santos, kean sandreas and namito! the dance music scene frequently uses african influenced music and rhythm. sampling vocals and percussions of african origin often help djs to achieve huge success with their tracks. meanwhile the political situation throughout the world is reaching an ever-growing imbalance from which the poorest are made to suffer. especially in africa, children have it very hard. they are growing up in an environment that offers poor resources and are exposed to a life of inhuman circumstances. no education, no medical care and worst of all, not enough to eat. in order to support these children and to aid their fight against poverty, the charity project >it began in africa< was set up by juliet sikora and tube & berger. together with other artists from the dance music scene they want to help raise money for the organization the african childrens choir. in cooperation with the african childrens choir, 18 artists made their own interpretations of the original songs from the african childrens choir. all profits made from the sale of this compilation will be donated to the choir and their further projects, i.e. building schemes, the founding of nurseries, and schools to help children get away from a life on the streets. >with this project we sincerely hope to be able to support the children of africa and empower them so that one day they will be able to help themselves>.

alphahouse welcomes kai to the family, with the dazzling 3-track ep >gakuon< his debut release came last year on portables sud electronic label, and put him on our ones-to-watch list. now kai delivers his second ep and its a killer. with so much music in the world following the same patterns, and producers sucked into using the same cheap tricks in the studio, its refreshing to hear that some people out there are still capable of independent and abstract thought. we hope you agree. >ac< is a mutant deep techno piece equally suitable for dark club mayhem as it is for sunday brunch with the in-laws. seriously, try it out at both places and if it doesnt work the next beer is on us. >spacetravel< is exactly that. a micro-sampled ride though the cosmos. tiny vocal spurts and playful melodies surround a throbbing bassline. stripped just to the groove and not over-arranged, theres plenty of room to let your imagination roam free. >gravity< is one of those special inside tracks that we search so long and hard for. delightfully simplistic, yet incredibly groovy. its amazing how much you can do with a few well-placed sounds, isnt it?

jerome sydenham and rune rk first met about 5 years ago, when jerome first played club rust in copenhagen. rune was the club resident, and the two immediately connected over the decks. even though their styles were very different, there was a mutual respect and understanding for the music. in november 2006 jerome and rune decided to go to the studio and see if these magnetic poles could be joined - and from nowhere magic happened. a new mutant of sounds and arrangements emerged. not really house, not really techno, but dirty and soulful at the same time. energetic, yet calm, these tracks are something new. they dont sound like rune rk, and they dont sound like jerome sydenham. so what do they sound like? have a listen
